| Resumo | Este trabalho analisa a produção teórica de Roberto Cochrane Simonsen, industrial e líder do empresariado industrial brasileiro na primeira metade do século 20. O período histórico que viveu, fase crítica da transição industrial, e sua capacidade de análise fazem de sua obra um marco para a compreensão sobre o pensamento e a ação do segmento da burguesia industrial, na batalha de impor hegemonicamente às outras frações de classe (ligadas ao capital ou ao trabalho) o seu projeto de classe. Como um dos poucos atores desse período que escreveu sobre as tarefas e desafios que se impunham no período à consolidação de um modelo econômico e um ordenamento político ligado aos interesses da industrialização, Simonsen tem importância singular enquanto produtor de uma memória histórica e na construção da ideologia da burguesia industrial. Sua intervenção prática perpassou inúmeros campos, da ação empresarial privada à vida pública, e nas duas áreas a sua aguda reflexão e capacidade de pensar adiante de seu tempo, se fizeram sentir. Em seus trabalhos verifica-se a presença de grande parte das tarefas impostas como fundamentais para a consolidação do modelo de capitalismo industrial - a racionalização do trabalho, a questão dos salários, os problemas de organização sindical (para capital e trabalho), a questão da proteção à industria nascente (cambio, crédito, políticas comerciais, infra-estrutura, planejamento), o desenvolvimento de uma ciência orientada para a solução dos |
| | problemas econômicos (com a qualificação de trabalhadores - SESI/SENAI, e formação de uma elite de administradores - Escola Livre de Sociologia e Política). ) Roberto Simonsen tem papel destacado na transformação do projeto industrialista em projeto nacional, sendo interlocutor da burguesia industrial no campo da organização empresarial e junto ao Estado (foi deputado, senador e membro de Conselhos Técnicos no governo Vargas). Como escreveu, em seus textos podemos encontrar parte expressiva das reflexões e postulados que orientaram a ação do mais destacado líder industrial no período, permitindo a rara possibilidade de observar o processo intestino de construção da ideologia e do projeto político desse período, na voz de um de seus articuladores mais significativos |

| Resumo/Outros | This work analyzes Roberto Cochrane Simonsen theoretical production, industrial and leader of the Brazilian industrial business community in the first half of the century 20. The historical period that lived, critical phase of the industrial transition, and his analysis capacity does a mark of his ork for the understanding about the thought and the action of the segment of the industrial bourgeoisie, in the battle of imposing preponderant to the other class fractions (linked to the capital or the work) her class project. As one of the few actors of that period that wrote on the tasks and challenges that they were imposed in the period to the consolidation of an economical model and a linked political arrangement to the interests of the industrialization, Simonsen has singular importance while producing of a historical memory and in the construction of the ideology of the industrial bourgeoisie. Roberto Simonsen has outstanding paper in the transformation of the project of industrial thought in national project, being speaker of the industrial bourgeoisie in the field of the business organization and close to the State (it was deputy, senator and member of Conselhos Técnicos in the government Vargas).
